Normal weight

To define normal weight and deviations, we refer to the BODY MASS INDEX (BMI)

The calculation of the BMI is made by the application of a simple formula if you know your weight and height:

BMI = Weight ( in kg ) : Height˛ ( in metres )

YOUR WEIGHT IS NORMAL IF YOUR BMI IS BETWEEN 20 and 25.

A BMI higher than 25, and you are overweight.

Examples:

1. you weigh 65 kilos and your height is 1.75 metres.
Your Body Mass Index : BMI = 65 : ( 1.75 x 1.75 ) = 21.2

2. you weigh 125 kilos and your height is 1.75 metres :
Your Body Mass Index : BMI = 125 : ( 1.75 x 1.75 ) = 40.8
