Nursing

The A8 team
All our patients are hospitalised in a unit specialised in the treatment of digestive tract disorders (A8 team).

The operating theatre in the Edith Cavell clinic comprises ten operating rooms in which high tech equipment enables the most elaborated operations to take place.

The patients who leave the operating rooms are monitored in the recovery room, located in the operating theatre itself and in the immediate vicinity of a team of anaesthetists.

The intensive care unit can handle all serious complications and monitors the most fragile patients.

In the operating room

The recovery room
After every operation and until fully conscious the patients are monitored by a specialised team of nurses.

As the recovery room is part of the operating theatre this enables the anaesthetist or the surgeon to make an immediate intervention when a problem arises after an operation.

The intensive care unit
The intensive care unit comprises ten hospital beds fully equipped for treating the most serious complications.

This unit has specialised permanent medical staff on duty.

Some patients are systematically transferred to this unit during the first post-operative hours, according to their medical problems or the seriousness of the operation performed.

In the event of any complications, a stay in intensive care will be necessary.
